Psalm 18:34 It is GOD that girded me with strength;
that made my way perfect
Who am I, that the Lord of all the earth
Would care to know my name
Would care to feel my hurt
Who am I, that the bright and morning Star
Would choose to light the way
For my ever wandering heart
Not because of who I am
But because of what You've done
Not because of what I've done
But because of who You are
I am a flower quickly fading
Here today and gone tomorrow
A wave tossed in the ocean
A vapor in the wind
Still You hear me when I'm calling
Lord, You catch me when I'm falling
And You've told me who I am
I am Yours, I am Yours
Who Am I, that the eyes that see my sin
Would look on me with love
and watch me rise again
Who Am I, that the voice that calmed the sea
Would call out through the rain
And calm the storm in me
whom shall i fear
whom shall i fear
i am yours

SC DANCE INTERNATIONAL- GOLD WITH HONOURS! :)
SC DANCE CHINESE- GOLD! :)
SC DRAMA SOCIETY- GOLD WITH HONOURS :)
SC HANDBELLS CHOIR- GOLD WITH HONOURS :)
SC CHOIR- GOLD :)
SC CONCERT BAND- SILVER :)
CONCLUSION:
SCGS' PERFORMING ARTS ROCKS MY SOCKS :)
its really amazing how the two times i represented SCGS in dance SYF both attained gold with honours..im really proud of my juniors who entered the chinese category, they worked so hard at it and made up for their weaker technique by improving on their style and artistry- and it was the first time sc entered an item in the chinese category
im happy sc dancer-somehow i think i feel more relieved that happy..maybe it was due to the intital prediction of all of us that there was a possibility that we would only get a gold. maybe we were too harsh on ourselves too; too afraid of disappointing the whole school and especially ourselves..we felt that serenade had too little audience appeal, and our item was different from the items- like 10times more technical, every single one of us were dancing en pointe- but basically not as "fun" to watch as the other schools.
mrs low called us from china (where she was choosing scholars) to wish us all the best and mrs tang went down to UCC to support us personally..of course the credit goes to hsien fa who choreographed the item.
im thankful and really appreciate the number of people who are so dedicated to SC Dance..so many volunteers, teachers, aunties who willingly came to school on monday at 6am to do up our hair, headpieces for us. especially for mrs chan, ms deans, auntie esther, ah kee jie jie, ms nonis, ms tng, mrs elaine lim, ms ong who also painstakingly handsewed and handglued on all of the many sequins on our costumes. and of course to our dear auntie joanne who did all 15 costumes from scratch (and its never easy to please hsien fa)..
SC DANCE MUST HAVE THE LARGEST DANCE DEPARTMENT IN THE WHOLE SINGAPORE! :)

OVER THE MOUNTAIN, ACROSS THE RIVER
haha. i love this show :) its so hilarious!
firstly: DBSK is featured, so obviously its GOOD
secondly: the hosts are so funny!
thirdly: all the elderly people from the rural areas are so friendly
basically, its a variety show that DBSK took part in: they went to rural villages of south korea to entertain and help the elderly people there with some of the work. MUST WATCH: the part where they attempt to chop firewood for the old people- xiah is super funny
cherie and i laughed like anything- i downloaded all 5 episodes with eng subs of course already :)

guess who tornado-ed into bio lesson today?it was a tornado wearing 3-inch heels called mrs Low Ay Naramazing huh? seriously, she just burst into our class today and politely interrupted mr teh's boring lesson on sexual reproduction in animals for about 5 minutes. how timely..never once in my entire schooling life has a principal stepped into my classroom before.i swear Mrs Low is so COOL. anyway i was enpowered and inspired by her today.anyway, she whipped out a register with our photos and names on it..and told us a whole lot of things, and if we were to abide by them, our life would be school+ homework+ revision of prelims/Olevels 24/7!everyone just sat still and listened to her. i think we were all in shock lawhat she said was:1. Girls, i dont think you all need that much sleep, right? what time do you all sleep? no one sleeps earlier than 10pm im sure. Girls, make sure every single one of you make full use of your time to revise okay..-yeah, im used to it already..I need the sleep, its just that i dont have the chance to2. Do you all have a revision timetable already? i think it would be good for you if you did 6 hours of revision a week for the prelims- and no, i havent started proper revision for prelims yet..mrs low totally gave us a HUGE wake up call. janice and i were so HORRIFIED to find out that its the end of april already- we have so little time left *panics*3. Is anyone aiming anything higher than 6 points? if you are, i dare you to raise up your hand and tell me now..i expect nothing more by the way- Duh, no one in my class wants to get higher than 6 points anyway- its already an unspoken rule4. Girls, i hope you are dont watch Channel 8 dramas with your family on weekdays okay..that is no a relevant excuse for not having enough time to do homework.- hah, im still gonna watch Dance Floor and Parental Guidance= 1.5 hrs a week onlythe point is:I HAVE TO START REVISING NOW!

my life is so boring. literally.school and more schoolee. being sec4 under a new principal is never too good. yeah i know mrs low needs to prove her capabilities of being SC's new principal in like 36 years, but we all know shes GOOD already..better than Ms Heng (i might add)i thought REMEDIALS are for weaker students. i just found out that i've been proven wrong.: my class has remedial in the afternoons 3 times a week for every single subject. bleh.i need to go out and chill- eat, shop and watch a movie with friendsor have "study sessions"- the kind that we discussed today at the recess table, the kind that is absoutely unproductive but generates alot of fun and nonsensei predicted that by the end of the month, at least 1/2 of my class would be staying back in the classrooms during recess DOING HOMEWORK or REVISING FOR PRELIMS/O LEVELS. *shivers*SC's Dance entered in the Chinese category for SYF today! :) i hope they can get at least a GOLD- its the first time SC has sent an item in other that the International category..results are coming out tomorrow at 10.30!meanwhile, 6 more days to SYF- International!

i really love love love my class and the people that make it up.
4 Sincerity are the class champions for 2007 sports day!!! WHOO.
used up alot of energy to cheer our athletes on today. 4 by 100m has got to be the most exciting race ever..emelyn, daphne, charlene and carrie were really amazing, i think they were at least 7m ahead although we were lagging behind for the first 150m or so.
guess who won for the inter-CCA 8 by 50m relay race?
DANCE! :) and i was part of the team. all of the dancers who were cheering and supporting us did a can-can dance along the track and came up with a dance cheer and really funny movements aha which goes like
D-A-N-C-E
Come along and dance with me!
D-A-N-C-E
Dont you wanna dance like me
and primary dance girls got 2nd place for their pri sch division
i suppose everyone thinks that dancing is like a relatively non-strenous physical CCA, which is SO NOT TRUE..yeah i know we occupy the most space in SC for our rehearsals and have a Dance department, but still dancing is not a bed of roses..dancing is tough and exhausting- thats what dancers are for: to make the hard and tiring work looking effortless
lets see, dancers have to:
- Constantly do core and abdominal excercies
- Mantain turnout from the hips, knees and feet
- Work through our metatarsals on pointe
- Endure blistered toes and chipped nails
- Try to defy gravity and get that extension to at least 130 degrees
- Strengthen our inner thigh muscles and hamstrings and try not to use too much of our quardriceps
and do another 100 things in order to look good on stage
Dance is tough but fulfilling :)
in honour of this post, the new video features polina seminova, one of SC Dance's favourite dancers- her artistry and technique are absolutely gorgeous in this video

Phantom of the Opera was so COOL.everyone who can afford should go and watch- see the flying chandelier! and the stage set!longer post about sunday's performance another time :)i definitely grew fatter since 2 mths ago..we tried on our syf costume for the first time on saturday- the greyish-halter-3layered mid-calf length skirt. not a good choice of costume, doesnt really suit the dance at all. In addition, theres a higher chance of WARDROBE MALFUNCTIONSguessed how many people's hooks on their halters fell off in the midst of rehearsals..thank goodness not mine. yeah i know we are wearing skin coloured leotards underneath, but if it happens on the 23rd, it wont be good.i know i gained weight bcos my costume feels tighter- not like its suffocating me la but its definitely more figure-hugginggoing back to do my daily sit-ups and core excercises. maybe i should increase the number of situps seeing that i've been gaining weight and cos ive been slacking for the past weeks- only did 50situps per daydesperate situations calls for desperate measures (65 situps?)

thursday was termed "Operation: Making rhea feel better" (rachel, you're a genuis! hahaha) bcos the day before she was feeling so very stressed and tired bcos of all the projects for our school and teachers telling her that shes not doing well enough as compared to last year..HELLO? she got like 94% for amath term 1. what is wrong with the teachers?
its really hard to be an excellent head prefect and top girl at the same time. rhea cried for 15mins straight at recess. so the next day, we surprised her with notes/chocos/bubble bath lotion/more chocolates/a rose/chicken's essence!! told her to take a break and relax and sleep more- she sleeps at 1am all the time doing ultra long numerous proposals and reports for the school. it was certainly a happy happy day :) share and show your love for your friends :)
that reminds me. I NEED TO FINISH MINUTES for
1. ex-co meeting. so overdue.i m drowning in guilt
2. CE meeting. and rhea said minutes are supposed to sent out the very next day oops
what a long weekend.
i can so finish 1week's worth of homework by monday
i hope you didnt just let the sacarsm run past you

my chem teacher is crazy. why on earth would she put me as a CHEMISTRY MENTOR? i mean there are other people in my class who are more qualified than me. i got like 14/20 for the last QA testnever mind, besides the fact that im now a literature AND chemistry mentor just means that there are more brain drain hours..im not complaining actually, just astonished that i was chosen :) but the more important thing was that yueyun, janice and I now have the 3 most "notorious" mentees to coach. i dont know how im going to find the patience and calmness of mind to teach her chem properly without being judgemental and all irriated inside me- the chances of me showing my frustration on my face is ZERO, but i know i will still be silently irritated..how do I teach someone who doesnt have the right attitude towards studying? This is one of my prayer items this week- just pray that God will grant me the peace of mind and patience towards others, especially her so that i will give my best and both of us can benefitthis is the exact reason why im not a good teacher..even teaching cherie is a problem for me. karina and i both agreed that we can best effectively transfer our knowledge to others when they have the same speed of thinking and intellect as us: which is obviously not good, cos i cant actually adapt well to other peoples' learing styles and abilities.sightoday rhea, yueyun, grace, janice and I walked past 4DG who was practicing their class cheer. do you know what we heard? there is actually a line that says "we hate sincerity".we were like "WHAT??", didnt actually believed what we heard. i bet the whole sec4 cohort is irritated at our class for sweeping all the possible class awards and sports day awards last year haha. well the fact that we are mentioned in another class' cheer just means that we are WORTHY COMPETITIORS that they'll have to beat :)

my blog is currently under going serious maintainence process..or maybe not? i may decide just to use a simple template, not have a tagboard and make people use the COMMENTS link instead :) haha.this colour is alot less stressful on the eye i think, never really liked things with black background though..everyone go check out the video i have at the left side of my blog. just click on the youtube icon!! its this new feature of blogger.i put up a DBSK clip- of them singing high pitch noises. go watch it for comic relief :) i read somewhere that cloudy apple juices are healthier than clear coloured ones..i mean i cant really apply this piece of information, right? most juices in the supermarket come in cartons which are unfortunately OPAQUE, so how to see if the apple juice inside is cloudy or not?hahahaeveryone please please please use the comments link at the bottom of every post until i finally get time to meddle some more with the template and decide if i should eventually revive my tagboard :)
