let me just give an account of my busy weekend which brought a bit of momentary excitement into my structured and boring life (:
FRIDAY: SYF Dance Fantasia Night
Serenade is probably worlds apart from concerto allegro, in terms of style and genre..but serenade blew the audience that night away- judging from how we had the loudest cheers (yueyun said she didnt expect that much applause either)..it was subtly impactful, to put it that way, i think it was just the grace and technical ability that really showed the training and high standard of SC dancers! saw grace there too! she was attending the peformance with her foreign friends as part of the Asia-Pacific Youth Leaders Summit thing (in hwa chong) she's attending now for 2 weeks, which makes me desk-partnerless in class.
i liked dan's item as well, a very dramatic and refreshing performance by serangoon JC as well as St Nicholas' Chinese dance syf item- their dancers' faces had so many different expressions of bliss and joy; making their item very enjoyable.

our very homely and comfortable costume room we sc dancers are really fortunate and pampered, we get our hair, makeup,earrings all done here by our teachers, members of the dance department and parent volunteers!

our dance lounge! the room where we do all our nonsense- sewing ribbons on pointe shoes, eating (although we are strictly not allowed to), doing illegal smsing [sometimes]

our dinner! SC dancers dance alot, so we eat equally as much. 14 of us had like 5 pizzas and the box of drumsticks- mrs chan was like "girls, would you all be able to finish all?"and we eventually did, in the end
SATURDAY-at ballet under the stars(BUTS) somehow, i felt something lacking from the sdt dancers :( the performances were less impressive and were shorter in terms of the no. of movements as compared to last year..but i like the 2nd and 3rd item, and ms clarke and toru were good! a view of the hundreds of people who brought their picnic baskets and families to fort canning for BUTS.

oh yes, and i finished reading the 7th Harry Potter book- Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows (: it was much better than the 5th and 6th, seeing how there was alot more drama and suspense and yet, the book is thinner.was feeling sad on knowing that Fred Weasely,tonks,lupin and mad-eye died :(
